I started taking pictures while driving back in 2003, and darned if it isn't fun!
My camera has an LCD screen (as you know), but I don't even look at it. I just move the camera around and push the button, all with one hand, while paying the majority of my attention to driving.
I don't do it when there's a lot of traffic around me, of course.
It's just as safe as, if not safer than, talking on a cell phone while driving. At least taking pictures requires an acute awareness of one's environment.
These pictures appear as though they were not taken in a safe manner.
