I am so sick of "down the rabbit hole"

Please, people, stop using that phrase. It wasn't a particularly clever allusion before The Matrix, and it certainly isn't one now, afterwards.

Yes, The Matrix makes an allusion to Alice in Wonderland in the "red pill or blue pill?" scene. And now everyone does it.

...technically there are more references than that, like the white rabbit tattoo. But the rabbit hole one seems to have stuck.
