Foreshadowing

I'm going to have something done.

Something that promises to be quite painful.

Something that will improve my life.

Something that is completely vain and unnecessary.

And to top it all off, it won't even last. In a couple of months I'll have to have it done again.

So, a question: when it happens for the first time, should I blog about it?

Because I will. In detail.

You have been warned.

Not a tattoo...I can't think of anything that I would want to have permanently written on my body. Plus, body shapes change...see this hilarious video :>

Laser hair removal? Because that fits the qualifiers of vain, painful, unnecessary and needing repetition.

My eyes are watering at the thought, although the gain is probably worth the pain.

Am I allowed to tell Sean, or is it a surprise?

It's not laser, but it is hair removal.

I have no idea if anyone does laser around here, or how much it costs.

I'm just doing a good old-fashioned wax.

Sean knows. :>

Oh no, you're not going to Brazil, are you?! A regular bikini wax is fine and all, but Brazil... I would rather pour the hot wax on my eyeballs.

...eyeballs?

It feels really weird to have this conversation with an anonymous person...people, could you at least please make up a nickname or something when you post? :>

Anyway, yes. The Brazilian it is.

What's this Brazilian thing? Forgive me if I sound ignorant (because I am) but I think I'm missing something here... >_<

Here's an article at Salon.com, and here's one at About.com.

Entirely overrated, just wait til it starts growing back. The hair has to be a certain length before you wax again, so in the meantime you get uncomfortable stubble and ingrown hairs.

Well, I have those problems anyway. :> From what I've read, using a loofah helps with the ingrown hairs. And as for the stubble, well, I've learned to live with it from shaving. I'm kind of hoping some of the issues I've had with shaving will be eliminated by waxing instead, but even if they don't, at least I won't be shaving every week or so.

Of course, we'll see how I feel afterwards, won't we?

In any case, none of you has answered my original question! Should I blog about it? Or would that be a little too much information?

:>

Is that a mandate? It sounds like a mandate to me!
