I have been trying to find good resources for Japanese study in the Augusta area, and so far I'm not finding much. The best possibility seemed to be Meetup.com, but the Augusta Japanese Language group doesn't have an organizer. I would be an organizer in a heartbeat if I could afford to pay the $19/mo.
Instead, I'm going to try to create a group on my own. If you're in Augusta and you're interested in learning Japanese, please post a comment!

I think this is a great idea. I am have only been learning Japanese for a year now but I would love to be able to practice more. Please keep me updated. I totally agree there is a total lack of resources here in augusta to learn Japanese.

So far that's two people. Don't be shy, people! Post here or email me at cosleia at QX dot net. I'll wait another week before trying to set a time and place for our first meeting.
Even if it does turn out to just be three of us, that's better than trying to study on our own!
Just a note: I've had an apartment fire and I've lost all my old email. If you contacted me about this, please email me again.
Hello. I went to meetups with the same idea for japanese and korean. I know a little korean already but want to learn japanese. My fiance is a japanese language teacher from korea. So if we get a group started she would be a great help in teaching us proper grammar and tonal inflection. if you are interested you can email me at aciescott at yahoo dot com. thanks bob
Heather,
I too think the resources in Augusta are disappointing. There used to be an anime rental store, but right around the time I moved closer to Augusta the place closed down.
I'm on Meetup.com as well and I agree that the $20/month isn't the right way to go, not unless we can get 4 or more people together that agree to pay the money together.
I'm noticing that these posts are quite old. Are you still trying to get this together? Please email me at tcatsninfan@gmail.com. Maybe I can help out in some way. Thanks!
