Those of you who are interested in the game I'm going to run might want to click here.

Sounds like a lot of fun, enjoy it!! :) I'd take a shot at it, but I know NOTHING of Cowboy BeBop, other than it's an anime. Anyway, when you run an "Anne of Green Gables" game, let me know.. :P
BTW, why are you packing?! Is it to go get your identification papers, so you can get your passport and come over here and eat doner kebabs, and homemade cookies with me?!?!?!! ;D
I'm going home to Kentucky through Wednesday. At some point during that time I do hope to get a copy of my birth certificate so I can get a new passport. But the main purpose of the trip is to see my family! ;)
Even I'm interested enough to finally watch the entire season of Cowboy Bebop. Though I'm getting it through significantly less legal routes, due mostly to costs.
In other news, I've got to tell you about all the new Animes this season. There are a lot. Lots of mecha as well. I'll get to that sometime.
(I just spent half an hour struggling with this new blogger change. It's Tim.)
Alright, here's some of the stuff I got around to downloading from the current season...
Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann (3 episodes watched) Gainax + Mecha = Win. This is another one of their crazy series with a style similar to Diebuster and FLCL. All the mecha's bodies have giant faces for some reason. I have no doubts I'll watch it all.
Heroic Age (3 episodes watched) More mechas, this time it looks like the staff from Gundam SEED found something else to do. Basically the creators of the universe give mankind the ultimate weapon in the form of Age, an uncivilized boy who turns into a giant robot. I'll keep watching, but depending on length I may not last the whole time.
Claymore (2 episodes watched) A half-demon girl with a big sword hunts demons with her simple human sidekick. Described as 'Berserk starring a Rei clone'. I'm iffy on it, since the animation style bugs me a bit. Too much outsourcing? I'll watch a bit more to see if it picks up.
Reideen (2 episodes watched) Mecha again, with a mysterious ancient technology feel. Good style, but has the slowest robot fights ever. It might not be as new as I once believed, but I think I can stand to watch one more episode.
Hayate no Gotoku! (3 episodes watched) A young man with flighty parents, a 150 million yen debt and no luck ends up being the bodyguard/butler for a super-rich young girl who is crushing on him. A comedy, and pretty silly and lighthearted, sometimes too silly to hold a story. The backstory just took 3 episodes, so I'm willing to wait longer for more, but I'm enjoying it.
Darker than Black (2 episodes watched) A dark future where a huge wall called Hell's Gate creates some kind of false sky (?). 'Contractors' are mechanical (?) killers who have a compulsion to do a certain task after using their powers (Like breaking their fingers, or eating a flower..). It's pretty cool, and looks good. It's cool enough to keep watching, and confusing enough to want to hear some explanations.
Sola (2 episodes watched) A young photographer with a love for the sky meets a girl who seems to have some difficulties with sunlight... I have no idea where most of this is going to go, so I'm going to keep watching.
Overdrive (1 episode watched) It's about bike racing! Like, actual bicycles, not motorized ones. A young man goes from loser to winning the Tour de France? Even if I was susceptible to hyping bread baking, hyped bikes has left me cold. I'll watch a bit more, maybe.
Rocket Girls (1 episode watched) Japan's apparently trying to develop a rocket engine to send people into space to fix priceless satellites, rather than letting they go to waste. Problem is, the engines have low thrust. The solution? Send up high school girls! I liked the style, the characters were interesting, and I want to see more. I'll be watching.
Kotetsu Sangokushi (1 episode watched) An adventure story about a young man given magic powers by a glowy box. Apparently he's going to protect his entire nation from evil with it. It's kind of hard to give details about it, I know that I'm going to watch a bit more before making a decision.
Gigantic Formula (2 episodes watched) It's a mecha series following a very familiar formula... What an ironic name. The title is actually about Gigantics, which are mecha, and are used in duels between nations instead of having actual war. The main pilot is, of course, a young boy who sees no point in fighting (save for his cute female co-pilot) with excellent skills and a deep connection to the robot. It's another mecha series, but I'm going to keep watching because it's similar to a story concept I made when I was in Elementary school.
Kami-chama Karin (2 episodes watched) A young girl discovers she has magical transforming powers given to her by god. Pretty much every other important character transforms for one reason or another. I don't know why, but I'm going to keep watching so I can make heads or tails out of some of the characters.
Nagasarete Airantou (2 episodes watched) A young man is washed ashore on an island in the middle of nowhere. On the downside, he won't be able to leave for 100 years. On the upside, he's the only guy there. Okay, okay, it's a classic harem anime situation, and like every protagonist he refuses the idea of being surrounded by a hundred or so girls who all want a piece of him, some almost literally. Harem animes are one of my secret shames, and I get a few smiles out of this series, so I'm going to keep watching.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS (2 episodes watched) After a good first season and a very good second season, Nanoha starts a third season, this one in the future where the characters have all grown up and the concentration is moved to the two pairs of new magical soldiers they're working with. After the first two seasons, it'd be an insult not to keep watching.
Touka Gettan (1 episode watched) This looked like it could be interesting, but watching the first episode completely threw me off. The focus shifted from character to character and timeframe to timeframe so fast I didn't get any of it. It was like the time I watched X TV at 4 AM and watched Episode 0 by accident and it threw everything into chaos. It's apparently about a boy (girl?) meets girl situation that causes a bunch of supernatural craziness. After the first episode, I have little reason to keep watching. I'll have less headaches that way.
iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia (2 episodes watched) Described as 'Evangelion mixed with Mai Hime', which is a fair description. A girl travels to Tokyo for an Idol job, only to discover that she's really going to be piloting a mecha that destroys rogue rocks from the asteroid belt around earth created by the ex-moon. Oh, and the mecha she's going to pilot has a major crush on her. Also, there's a girl in a giant penguin costume for no reason other than it being awesome. This is actually a very entertaining series so far. The animation is good, I like the style and the mecha, and there's lot of fun characters to watch.
Lucky Star (2 episodes watched) Azumanga Daioh + Extra Cuteness = This. The main character's VA just finished playing Haruhi Suzumiya, and her voice is fun with a complete change in style. A very slice of life story about highschool girls. The OP is an upbeat song about Sailor Fukus. This just might be the top of my list for the year. Nothing short of horrible fansub failure would stop me from watching this.
I'm probably missing a few series here, not only ones that I'm watching but also ones I'm not watching. Torrents have been coming in constantly so it's been tough keeping track of everything.
Sound like great fun!! ^_^ I can't wait to join in, although I'd have to rewatch the series, as I haven't watched it since High school >.>; But it'll be fun nonetheless. Creating a character will be a good challenge, if nothing comes to mind I could possibly port over one of my old AMRN characters ( I still have the old character sheets somewhere...) if I can't come up with anything. Although if that doesn't work I could port over one of my WoW(world of warcraft, yes I play that horrid game) characters and space adapt them (joking, Hea-chan, no one wants to see a dwarf in space ^_^;)
Speaking of which though, should I re-register with the AMRN or should I reactivate my old one?
>>Well, user self-registration is disabled, but your old Hyper account is still there, so I'd suggest retrieving your password and rolling with that.<<
Been trying that all morning, for some reason it gives me an error saying that there are no user accounts matching the username and/or e-mail address you entered on the previous screen. I wasn't sure what email it was linked to, but I used all three I've used in the past seven years.
Update: I'm re-registered! Thanks for the help Heather, I'm kinda hopeless sometimes I know. Now to start brainstorming a character idea. Thanks again!

Birth certificate, then, you know what I mean.. ;)
HAVE A SAFE TRIP!!
I am going to rent and watch the series just so I can play in Heather's game.
I'm a Heather groupie!
wh00t! I'm glad my game is inspiring people to watch Bebop, one of the best anime ever :)
You need to start a Hikaru no Go game.
Even I'm interested enough to finally watch the entire season of Cowboy Bebop. Though I'm getting it through significantly less legal routes, due mostly to costs.

Hai, I would love to run a Hikaru no Go game. But I think I would really need to learn how to play go first :>
Tim, I haven't checked out any new anime, so I look forward to your report!

Hope some of this proves interesting!
I realized after I said that I hadn't watched any new anime that I have watched two eps of Hayate no Gotoku. But that's it!
Thanks for the exhaustive list!
Darker Than Black sounds...bizarre. And perhaps angst-contrived.
I've heard of Sola, and the short synopsis I read sounded interesting. I think I'll give it a shot.
Overdrive...hmm...sports anime! But if it isn't any good, then boo.
I'm intrigued by your description of Touka Gettan. Rather than turning me off, it actually makes me want to watch it!
I think I may try Lucky Star. I never did manage to finish Azumanga Daioh though...

When the game gets closer and I have people's c-sheets, I can make character accounts.

The email listed on that account is hyper AT unspacy DOT com. Try that one. It forwards to a Yahoo account: dark_wanderer_2015.
>.>; I SO didn't see that one coming. I'll go ahead and try that now. ^_^; gomen, i feel a bit baka-ish...
