I hate Windows XP

It hides everything I want to find, and forces me to use Wizards to do everything. I have no idea what the Wizards are doing to my settings, and I can't just, you know, access the settings.

*runs off to microsoft.com to see if there's any recourse*

It looks like PlaySkool's My First Operating System. It grates on my nerves. I set all the options back to Windows Classic on my work computer and run Win2K Pro on my home computers.

It is not pretty! It looks like a giant, disgusting piece of candy!

Hai, I did the same. Unfortunately the classic look didn't help me with my network issue :/

What settings did you want to adjust? Most everything can be got at via control panel just the same as 2K if not quicker.

Well, technically I did adjust them, using the network Wizard thingy. I was trying to change the workgroup so that I could see the network.

Once I put in the workgroup name, I could see the workgroup, but I couldn't access it. It said something like access denied, or workgroup unavailable, or someshit. Since I couldn't find a way to just change the settings without using the Wizard, I wasn't sure what it was about my settings that caused that. The other work computer, on Win2K, could see the workgroup and the XP computer fine (though it couldn't see the shares).

Anyway, all the tutorials and things talked about tabs that don't exist in the Classic layout, which was really confusing/annoying. Do I have to set it back into Hasbro mode to do advanced things? ;P

GRRR!!!!
Internet Explorer froze. No matter how many times I hit "end now" and "don't send" error report. I can't get rid of the IE window. I hit ctrl-alt-delete and use the task window and click on "end now." It just creates another item in the task manager called, "IE end now, not responding."
Then, I decided to reboot. I went into windows XP restart the computer. Windows XP froze during the "logging off". It's been there for a while. Ctrl-Alt-delete doesn't work. Well, the next thing I always do is cut the power. Except for I have a small problem. I am using a laptop and I can't cut the power because it's running on the battery.
So for several hours now, "Windows XP logging off" has been on my screen. I can't ctrl-alt-delete or cut the power. I tried "fn break". I didn't have anything better to do, so I looked for a short cut key on the keyboard that might interrupt the "logging off".
I hit every key on the keyboard in combination with alt, and with combination of ctrl.
I am thinking about taking the laptop apart and ripping out the battery. I am thinking about getting UNIX.
I go to websites on my other PC (not the frozen laptop) to research. Everything says, "try downloading this or that, or go into the registry and change the Hkeys...."
How can I do that when windows XP is frozen, ctrl-alt-delete won't work, and I can't cut the power due to it running on battery.
I know, back-up, back-up, back-up my work.
I just got done making major code changes in my java program, and now I have to wait for hours.

Can you imagine if Disney and Microsoft got together?
MickeyMouse would say, "hello there, would you like to type a memo." Then we'd have to wait for 5 seconds for him to dance a jig.

You know...maybe I really do need Mickey's help on this. I am so stupid that I don't realize that a memo has a date, subject, body, closing. Well Golly, 4 things are really hard to remember.

Now, if goofy popped up to help me with the stack errors, and illegal operations, I might tolerate the animated infantilizing critters. Where are they when we really need them.
